MECHANIC INJURED.

EYESIGHT ENDANGERED. A serious accident befel a mechanic, Mr. Herbert Holmes, while pouring molten white melal into a bearing in the engineering works of Bramlev and Gow, Wakefield Street, at about 8.15 yesterday morning. The metal splashed in his face and entered his right eye. It is possible ho may lose tho sight of this eye. lie was taken to hospital by the St. John Ambulance.

Mr. Holmes' condition lato last evening was reported to bo satisfactory. Ho is married and lives at Park Road, Papatoeto*.
