WEEKLY WESTFIELD SALE.

LOWER PRICES FOR BEEF.' FURTHER DECLINE IN VALUES. A further decline in the price of beef cattle was shown at the weekly Westfielcl fat stock salo yesterday. 'J'ho yarding, was about the same as last week, a .steady demand at lower rates being maintained. Heavy cattle were mainly affected, extra choice and prime ox and choice and prime cow and heifer boef declining in value Is per 1001b. There was a largo yarding of sheep, which also sold at lower rates. Prime wethers realised up to 34s 6d, Is 6d less than last week, the top price for ewes being <?ver 2s less than last week. The demand remained steady throughout. Largo numbers of prime lambs came forward, prices being inclined to improve.

Good quality heavy vcalers were in demand in tho calf pens, which were comfortably filled. Bidding was keen and values for all classes remained firm at late rates. Tho exceptional price of £9 10s was realised for one heavy yearling heifer.

A heavy yarding of pigs resulted in decreased prices, both fat pigs and stores being affected. Porkers wero especially dull of sale.
