Summer conditions are by no means conducive to ft sound labour market in tho coalmining sphere, and for this reason some distress is being felt among tho workers at Kaitangata. Relief, however, has been forthcoming from tho Government, 13 men having been taken from Kaitangata during tho past two or three weeks and given relief work at Allanton.
