SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS.
RETURN OF REV. A. G. DANIELLS
The founder of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Now Zealand, the Rev. A. G. Daniells, returned to Auckland yesterday after an absence of 14 years. Forty-two years ago, Mr. Daniells, accompanied by Mrs. Daniells, who is also with him on hia present visit, arrived in Auckland, and in a lent pitched on the Ponsonby Road preached the Gospel according to the tenets of his Church. Later ho saw the church established in a permanent home in Auckland, and in other parts of New Zealand. Mr. Daniells has been a travelling pastor for the past 30 years, with headquarters in Washington, and his residence in America brought him into personal contact with tho President-elect, Mr. Herbert Hoover. Mr. Daniells described Mr. Hoover as a very fine man with high morals and a wide outlook on the worla's affairs. He came from an old Quaker family, and although not as strict as the old-time adherents of that faith, he was nevertheless a regular attendant at a littlo Quaker Church in Washington. He had never yet made a failure of any big undertaking, and Americans believed he would mnke a very fine President. With Pastor W. Fletcher, of Sydney, Mr. and Mrs.* Daniells will attend tho summer camps of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Auckland and Christchurch, and Mr. Daniells will return to Sydney early in January.
