A BRIGHT SCENE.
ROTORUA HIGH SCHOOL BALL.
The annual plain ayd fancy dress ball of tlio Kotorua High School, held last Friday evening in the Peerless llall, was a great success. The floor was crowded with an animated throng of dancers who presented a giy and attractive appearance in their varied costumes. Shalfoon's Orchestra provided an excellent programmo of music, and the supper arrangements were admirably carried out by a committee of parents.
Prizes presented by friends of the school were awarded as followsßest-dressed girl, Edna Henderson, drummer girl; most original girl. Gwenneth Hill, suffragette. Special prizes, Clara Shnrpe, feather duster; prettiest little girl in the grand march, Vnys Wallis; best-dressed boy, M. I'arlanc, green archer; most original boy, 0. Lou lie, absent-minded professor; special prizes, Gift Steele, hula girl; D. Fowkes, Indian hawker. Others wearing fancy costumes were:— W. Higgins, a pirate; K. Hale, fire; M. Musgravo, lose; I.
