CLAIM TO PROPERTY. FRENCH HOLDERS SUED. Auatralian and N.Z. Press Association. LONDON. Nov. 26. Princess Faley, widow of the Russian Grand Duke Alexandrovitch, is contesting the right of the Soviet to confiscate or dispose of her properly. Before tbe King's Bench division she is taking action against a firm of French dealers, whose defence set out that certain furniture, tapestries, carpets and pictures at present in England had legally been appropriated by the Soviet in 1918 and subsequently purchased by defendants. Counsel for plaintiff said the property undoubtedly belonged to the Princess and came from her home in Russia. After the revolution her husband was imprisoned and eventually shot in IQI9. The Princess left, Russia soon afterwards. Cross-examined tho Princess agreed that her husbaud did not give her any document showing that the property iu Russia belonged to her. The case was adjourned.
