There whs a slight easing off in beef quotations at the Fralikton stockyards today, when heavy beef was yarded in smaller numbers limn last week. The yarding o£ storo cattle was exceptionally heavy, one of tbo largest offered at the yards for some years. A small yarding of sheep sold at prices much on a par with last week's quotations. Auctioneers' reports arc as follows: farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd.—A medium yarding of fat cattle. Steer beef was easier and cow and heifer beef sold at late rates. Medium fat steers made £l3 153 to £l4 17s; good quality light 6teers, £l3 to £l3 7s (id; heavy fat cows, £lO Ss to £lO 17s Cd; medium prime, £8 35s to £9 6s; light and unfinished, £7 to £8 Cs. Grown store steers were in demand. Younger steers were easier. Fouryear bullocks made £lO to £lO 17s; threcyeur, £6 17s to £9 17s.' There was a short yarding of mutton, which sold at late rates. Shorn fat wethers made 33s to 33s 3d; fat woolly hoggets, 35s 6d. Pigs sold at the usual rates. No heavy baconers were yarded. Pigs were in good demand and the sheep penned found a ready market. Best ewes and lambs made £2 15s lOd. The following prices were realised:—Pigs: Weaners, lGs, 17s, and 18s; slips, 21s, 245, 27s to 28s Gd. Sheep: Fat wethers, shorn, 27s 3d: fat ewes, shorn. 24s 8d; 129 owes and 107 lambs, £2 15s lOd: 124 ewes and 110 lambs, £2 13s 7d; nix-tooth wethers, 25s 8d to 27s 7d; 133 ewes, 41s Gd; mixed sex hoggets, 353 7d: ewes and lambs, shorn, 14s 7d each; ewo hoggets. 37s 9d to 4Gs Id; wether hoggets, 32s Cd. AUSTRALIAN WHEAT YIELD. A BIG HARVEST. Latest expert forecasts of the pvobablo wheat harvest of Australia indicate that tho yield will approximate 143,000,000 bushels, as compared with an average for the last fivo years of 136,000,000, and with an output of around 115,000,000 bushels last season. Tho Victorian crop is expected to produce over 40,000,000 bushels, as compared with 26,160,814 bushels last season. Now South Wales and South Australian figures, at over 40,000,000 and 30,000,000 bushels respectively, aro well above last season's, but- tbo Western Australian yield is expected to fall from 36,370,000 bushels to 30,270,000 bushels as a result of lack of spring rains in some districts. Queensland will provide about 3.000,000 bushels, being somewhat slightly below earlier expectations.
