performances in otago. Competing at an nthlrtic meeting in Dunedin recently, Miss M. Pettet, who won tho Otago championship last year, following on an appeal, won a heat of tho 100 yards handicap from scratch in 12 seconds, and then won the final comfortably in 12 l-ss. This is tho best performance registered by a lady in Dunedin, and shows that in Miss Pettet Otago has a good sprinter who will, if carefully coached take a prominent part'in tho New Zealand championship.
