HEAVY-WEIGHT BOXING.
THE PLANS OF PHIL SCOTT. [FROM our. ATHI.EIIC CQRRESruNDENT. ] LONDON, Oct. 17 Phil Scott, fho British heavy-weight, still believes he can beat most heavyweights in the world, and lie tells mo "he is most desirous of bringing tho heavyweight title to England." That is u very nico sentiment for a Britisher, but [ am afraid, even tho second-class heavyweights that are now knocking around the world are still too good for Scott, who, like most British heavy-weights, lacks the "tiger." However, Scott does not expect to £el into Tex Rickard's good books by seeking a championship fight right away. What he is planning is a clean-up of ail Europe. Scott's idea is to meet the heavy-weight champion of every European country, tho contests to take place at intervals of two weeks or a month. Should fulfilment of the idea ho brought about by the hustle of somo ambitious promoter, it would not only be a big financial success, but it would give u.s a clear-cut indication who is really tho European chamnion, and as such the light to battle for tiie world's title.
