WALTON CHEESE FACTORY.
ERECTION RECOMMENDED. FARMERS SUPPORT PROPOSAL [BY telegram.—own correspondent.] MATAMATA. Tuesday.
Officials of the New Zealand Cooperative Dairy Company, Ltd., addressed a meeting of farmers at Walton on (lie question of providing a cheese factory for the district. Mr. A. G. Gillingham presided and Mr. C. J. Parlane, general manager, was the principal speaker. After the subject had been discussed a motion was passed recommending tho company to erect a factory at Walton, provided that the supply from at least 10CO cows was promised. No difficulty was anticipated in getting the. necessary minimum supply for a factory on the station site.
