AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
TRAINING COLLEGE SPORTS. THE ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS. The Auckland Training College held its annual athletic championship meeting at the Domain yesterday, where, despite adverse weather conditions, some interesting competition was witnessed. The heavy track was against fast times and the fields were not so Strom? as usual. P. Whitten, winner of the 880 yds and one-mile championships, was the outstandins performer. His stylo was very impressive and each event was won with the greatest case. Ten minutes after the mile had been run ho competed in the 410 yds and finished a close third. L. D. Abbott was the most successful sprinter, winning both tho 100 and 220 yards championships. Owing to heavy rain several evrrits were postponed. Tlio results were as follows: IOOYds Championship.—L. I). Abbott. 1 ; K. McUao, 'J; E. D." Hill. Five stinted. Won by a yard, inches between second and third. Time. lis. 220 Yds Championship.—L. D. Abbott, 1: F,. D. If ill, 2. Four started. Won by 2yds. liine, 235. lMYds Championship.—G. Laurie, 1 ; W. •T. Broomfield, 0; F. WhiHon, 3. Five started. Won by a yard. 2ft. between second and third. Time. 57h. PHOYds Championship.—F.
