[BT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] MORHINSVILLE, Saturday. The new Kerppne School was officially opened by the chairman of the Education |Joard, Mr A. Burns, in the presence of a very large number pf settlers. The SCIIO9I is a compact structure, built U| accommodate 36 cjjjldrpn, and is set on a four-acre section. Although thp school is bqilt to accommodate 36 children therp are already 38 on the roll. Mr. W. E. Watts, chairman of the school committee, drew ihe attention of Mr. Burns to this fact, and said that at present there were 103 children in tlie district under schppl age. Ho felt this fact- justified |be committee askjng for ji larger scliopl while the builders were on the job. Mr- Bums said he was pleaspd to jipar there were so many childrep in the district. It was a sign of progress. Unfortunately the board was bound by regulations in the matter of making additions U> schools, and was unable to grant permission for extensions until therp were a certain number of children on the roll.
