Australian and N.Z. Press Association. SHANGHAI, Nov. 23.
The residents of Peiping (formerly Peking) are enjoying free tram rides. This is because of the refusal of tho conductors to collect fares until the tramways company assures protection to employees from nativo soldiers.
It is said that the soldiers beat conductors whenever fares are asked for. All the people are now indulging in joyriding on trams.
