NEW TYRE ANNOUNCED.
GOODYEAR PRODUCTION.
The introduction of a pew tyre, intended to honour the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Goodyear organisation in 1893, is announced in thi:s issue. When the Goodyear engineers started designing the Double Eagle tyre, r>.s it is called, they were told to disregard costs and expenses and to build the best tyre possible. It was only after a year of experiment and trial that tliey announced it was ready for the market. The officials of tlio company declared the new tyre would wear longer than most persons drive their cars and dangers of l)lo\y-outs and punctures aro practically eliminated. In order to develop long \vear moro rubber was placed between the lilies and the tyre was lined with an extra layer of rubber. The Double Eaglo lyre is also subjected to a special low-tompera-turo curing process. A gold-cplpurcd inner tube, made under iitore durable conditions and to go with this new tyre, is also announced.
