THREE CALLOUS FOOTPADS. BENEFACTOR STRUCK DOWN. Three young men in Sydney' set upon and badly injured a stranger, who had treated them generously recently. "Hey, you," said tho voico behind him, "Key, hand the lot over, now!" Ross halted to find tho tlireo men crowding around liim demanding his money. He demurred anil was instantly struck on tho head with a beer bottle. Ho fell to tho ground, bleeding and helpless, while hands ran through his pockets. The footpads secured £2 6s for their benefactor and fled.
