WHEN TO GATHER FRUIT.
' This is a question which frequently troubles pickers, but thero are two ways of telling. Cut open an applo or a pear, and if tho seeds arc dark brown or black, tho crop should bo harvested. Tho other way is by taking a growing fruit in the hand and gently raising it. If it parts easily from its branch without force being used, it is fit to bo gathered.
