TO AID PLAYING GROUNDS.

The playing grounds of the Diocesan High School will benefit to a very helpful extent by the bridge afternoon held at tho Ellerslio Tea Kiosk yesterday. A committee of ladies had organised it with such success that there were between 75 and 80 tables in use. A more attractive setting than tho gardens around the kiosk, which aro now in full bloom, it would bo difficult to find, and after the rain which fell early in tho afternoon they were particularly fresh and fragrant. Among those present were Mrs. Ford, who wore a froclf of black georgette over floral crepc do chine and a black hat trimmed with shaded flowers; Mrs. F. S. Moorhouse, almond green soft satin appliqued in pastel colours, white fox lur and black hat; Mrs. 1). C. Leepcr, navy blue jumper suit and hat to tone; Mrs. A. J. Nutter, liberty frock in Oriental colouring, black hat with velvet appliques; Miss Bell, black georgette and cardinal red straw hat; Miss Darling, cedar rose frock and hat of tho same shade trimmed with a largo beige chon; Mrs. Watson Airey, floral patterned crepe do chine frock and wide brimmed yellow hat; Mrs. F. K. Hunt, blue and fawn spotted crepe de chino and black hat; Mrs. C. W. Heather, bluo suit ivith Oriental trimming and small white hat; Mrs. I. K. Wicksteed, fawn crepe do chino and hat to tone; Mrs. Lennox, crepe do chine and rose hat to tone; Mrs. Pluinmcr, almond green crepe do chine frock and black hat; Mrs. S. A. Dawson, navy and fawn frock and hat to match. Mrs. T. W. ' Leys wore a frock of wine-coloured georgette and wine-shaded hat to match; Mrs. J. L. Conlan, navy bluo ensemble and navy bluo hat; Mrs. F. Brown, roso spotted crepo do chino frock and grey and roso hat; Mrs. Miller, navy and white spotted crepe de chine frock and black hat; Mrs. Ashton, floral patterned frock and fawn silk bat; Mrs. J. Frater, blue floral frock and beigo straw hat: Mrs. Noakos, georgette frock spotted in navy and red and wide brimmed black hat; Mrs. J.
