HEADMASTER RETIRES.
MR. BENJAMIN BAGBY. [BY TELEGIIArU. —OWN COUIIESrOXHEV T.] HAMILTON, Thursday. The headmaster of the Haimlton East School, Mr. Benjamin Baglev, is retiring after 42 years service. Mr . Baglev is a New Zealander lie was educated m Dun e.rlin and for a time taught in several Dunedin schools In 1893 he \v;.s appointed first assistant at Woodvdle, Hawke's Bay, where he remained los 12 years. He then became headmastei of Kurneroa School, Hawke's Bay, and successively headmaster of the Norsewood, Dannevirko North and Woodville District Higli Schools.
Mr. Baglev was appointed headmaster of the Hamilton East School in 1922. The school is one of the largest in llio Waikato. In his younger days he was an all round athlete, having played Wtlia.ll, tenuis and cricket. Me has also been a swimmer, rower and runner and ot present is an active member of tiro Claudelands Bowling Club.
