Hammond Bacon, Esq., opened the proceedings on behalf of the "Wets." "I am not here,"he declared, "to discuss the merits or otherwise of 'wetting the whistle' occasionally, or even of 'wetting the baby's head.' That is a question for the people of New Zealand to settle. lam concerned now solely with 'whetting the appetite'! And Ido declare that there is nothing like Mustard for tha* nuroose.
