THREATENING BUSH FIRES.
MANY HOUSES IN DANGER. GIRL BURNED TO DEATH. WATER SHORTAGE IN SYDNEY. (Received November 9. 5..~> p.m.) SYDXKY. Nov. if. Two hundred houses in the Hilltop district of New South Walosi are threatened by the bush iires. Fifty lirefighters from Mittagong, 77 miles south of Sydney, were out all night, and were not heard from. A band of 40 reinforcements has gone to the scene. The daughter of Dr. lleggaton, a girl of 20, was burned to jleath at Murruniburrah, 230 miles south-west of Sydney. A serious shortage of water in the city is causing concern.
