MINOR SUBURBAN FIRES.

SCHOOL SLIGHTLY DAMAGED. Very slight, damage was done to the Mount Eden school about half-past eight yesterday morning, when fire broke out between some weatherboards and the lining of the building, owing to the hurn-iug-off of old paint. Tlio Mount Eden brigade easily extinguished tlio flames. Sparks from a passing train caused a fire in scrub on a section near a house in Baldwin Road, Mount Albert, about 10.-10 yesterday morning. The Mount Albert brigade extinguished the outbreak before any serious damage was done.
