PROPOSED CONTROL BOARD. COUNTY COUNCIL APPROVES. Australian mid N.Z. Press Association. LONDON, Nov. 7. The London County Council alter sitting for 16i hours, approved of a recommendation to permit the suggested singlo Trallio Control Board, headed by the Underground Railways, to take over the council's tramways. The voting was 63 to 44. The London County Council consists of a chairman, 20 aldermen, and 124 coun- I cillors. The chairman is Mr. J. M. Gal to. The Council is the Tramway Authority, London. The system runs over 165 street miles, all- electric (123 underground conduit system, 42 overhead). The total capital outlay has been £17,015,000, to March, 1027. The net outstanding debt was £9.011,000. The receipts for the last year (to September, 1927), were £4,155,547 ; surplus on working. £200,601; deficiency, after payment of interest, outlav, and repayment of del it. £275,159, which was charged on the rates.
