INQUIRY INTO FIRE.
incendiarism suspected. [RY 1 ELKGRAPII. —OWN* COIWESPON PENT.] HAWEBA. Thursday An inquiry has been ordered l>y tn« Hawera coroner.'Mr. J. S. Barton. S.M., into tho circumstances of a fire in a Hawera private hotel on October 11 last. The reports of the fire superintendent, Captain A. Morrison, and of the police, were considered by Mr. Barton to warrant an inquiry.
Incendiarism was strongly suspected as the result ot three outbreaks that occurred in the hotel, which is a laigfi wooden tw i-storeyed structure. I'orUinately Ihe flame- were soon noticed and the fire brigade was able to extinguish the outbreaks before much damage had been done. The fires were all 111 the vicinity of the kitchen.
