DANGEROUS DRIVING.
SEQUELS TO ACCIDENTS. CYCLIST AND MOTORIST FINED. [ISY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MORRINSVILLE, Friday. Charges of dangerous and negligent driving, preferred against Thomas Goblo, in (he Morrinsville Magistrate's Court yesterday, related to an accident in which defendant, who was riding a'motor-cycle, knocked "down Miss E. Innes, of Hamilton, who sustained a fracturo of tho leg. Miss V. Brayshaw stated in ovidenco that at 5.30 p.m. on September 7 she was walking home in the rain with Miss Innes when, without warning, an unlimited motor-cycle (lashed past and knocked over Miss Innes.
The magistrate, Mr. F. W. Plaits, said tliat it' the defendant had not been able to seo properly, cither through the glare of light or through ram, he should have stopped and not risked maiming or killing persons lawfully on t road. He was clearly guilty of dangerous driving and would no convicted and fined £3 and costs. Two other charges were withdrawn. A fine of £5 and costs £1 13s was imposed on Joseph William Marsh, who was charged with dangerous driving on the MorrinsviUo-llamilton road on September 24. It was stated by the police that defendant was driving with only ono light on a wet night, and that lie had collided with a Hamilton motor-cyclist, who had been misled h\ tlio single light, thinking lie was meeting another molur-cycle \s a eotisequenco the motor-cyclist's fingers had been injured, one of them permanently. The magistrate said that by driving with one light defendant was increasing the many dangers of travelling on the road.
