CONDITIONS IN BAKERIES. MINISTER PROMISES BILL. Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON. Oct. 25. A deputation from t.he Trades Union Congress and the affiliated unions interviewed Sir William Jovnson-Hicks, Home Secretary, to urge improved factory legislation to prevent night baking and undue overtime, and providing for the better washing of clothes and drying accommodation. They also asked for a weekly rest period and for a woman to attend to injured women where a male attendant was undesirable.

Sir William promised that if the present Government was returned after the election an amending bill -would bo introduced at any early date.
