TABLET IN LONDON CHURCH. DUKE OF YORK'S TRIBUTE. Australian Press Association--united Service LONDON. Oct. 23. "This is a memorial to a great soldier and a great Scotsman," said the Duke of Y'ork when unveiling a tablet in St. Columba's Church, London, in commemoration of Earl Ilaig's connection with the church. lfe recalled that the Karl s body lay in state there before burial. The Duke paid a tribute to Karl Haig's. work for the welfare of ex-servicemen. The Duke and Duchess, when leaving the church, conversed with wounded ex-ser-vicemen.
