PROSECUTION OF MOTORISTS. MANY OFFENDERS FINED. Numerous motorists were prosecuted in the Police Court yesterday for breaches of tho by-laws. For not having rear lights on their vehicles fines of 10s wero imposed ori J. A itch esoii, B. Denloy and E. C. Nieholls, while O. Alford, F. Elliott,, W. A. Eddowes, 11. Fuller, J. B. Ferguson, E. Foley, II It. Key worth, R. Kemp, J. A. McLean, W. R. Smith, and A. E. Thodo were fined 5s each. C. F. Bennett, J. O. Brook, E. Briggs, H. T. Merritt and A. Turner were convicted and discharged. Prosecuted bv the Waiteinata County Council. J. E. Hamilton, (!. If. Monks, H. A. Swan son. F. S. Stevens, H. Wright, A. Field and C. D. Conway were each fined £1 for dangerous driving. J. It. Smith and J. If. Demarr wero fined 10s each for similar offences. Speeding cost, A. L. Cannon and P. Lock each £l. W. J. Norton was fined £2 for falling to givo way to a vehicle 011 tho right For cutting a corner, A E. Clayton was fined £2. The city traffic inspector, Mr. O. Hogan, prosecuted (i. Croft. A. E. Irving, A. 1. Craig and C. L. Wah Jang, who were each" fined 10s lor leaving cars unattended. W. E. Taylor and Son wore fined £1 011 a charge of having allowed an omnibus to cause undue noise. !• ailure to obey traffic officers cost I. Whitney and T. A. lloldsworth £1 each.
