Wash 3o?„ ot pearl barley and put it into a pan with cold ivatei to cover. Bring to the boil and strain. Put the "hurley into a .jug with the thinly-peeled rilld of a lemon, and pour over 14 pints of boiling .water. Leave until cold, add the juice of the lemon, strain, add sugar to tasto and serve. This may be iced.
