OBITUARY.
MR. S. P. KINNEIR. PROFESSIONAL CRICKETER. 'Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON, Oct. 17. Tho sudden death occurred to-day of Mr. S. P. Kinneir, a former professional cricketer. Ho was a member of Warner's team which visited Australia in 1911. Mr. Kinneir collapsed while he was riding to his home on a motor-cycle after playing golf. His age was 55.
The late JMr. Septimus P. Kinneir was born on May 13, 1873, at Corsham, Wiltshire, England. He played for Warwickshire, 1898-1914. On the Australian tour, 1911-12, his batting average was 41.45 for all matches. Among his large scores were 158 not out for Players v. Gentlemen, at the Oval, 1911, and 124 and 110 for Warwickshire v. Sussex, at Chichester, in the same. year. In 1905 he and J. F. Byrne scored 333 runs in n first-wicket partnership for Warwickshire v. Lancashire, at Edgbaston. He was a left-handed batsman of great patience.
