PRESENTATION.

A farewell social was tendered in tho Patumahoo Memorial Hall 011 Wednesday evening to Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Cu , residents of Patumahoe district for many years, who arc removing to Gisborne. About 250 people were present. On behalf of the residents, Mr. J. Henry, who presided, presented Mr. Cuif with ' bowler's bag and travelling rug and -> • Cuff with a gold wristlet watch. Mr. Henry' said Mr. Cuff had taken an active interest in promoting the welfare ot t district, having served on the I'ranKU Power Board, the Franklin County Council and the school committee. 011 bchn qf the Mauku Athletic Club the president, Mr. W. E. Johns, presented Mr. Luri with a gold-mounted fountain pen.
