MOTOR CAMPING SITE.
MOUNT HOBSON ABANDONED.
DECISION OF CITY COUNCIL.
SEEKING ANOTHER LOCALITY.
No further action is to bo taken by the City Council in connection with the proposal to establish a motor camping site on Mount Hobson. A petition against the suggestion was received by the council three weeks ago, the signatories being residents of the locality.
" Is it proposed now to throw the whole onus of .finding a site on the Automobile Association 1" asked Mr. L. A. Lady, at last evening's meeting of the council.
No suitable site was at present under consideration, replied Mr. J. B. Paterson, acting-chairman of the Parks Committee.
Mr. A. J. Stallworthy thought the matter was capable of further investigation. The recommendation to take no further actioii looked like " the final word."
Mr. E. J. Plielan gave an assurance that the committee was impressed with the need of finding a suitable site, and he thought one would bo located at Avondale. Tho recommendation to take no further action applied only to the Mount Hobson site.
