PIAKO ASSOCIATION. SHIELD COMPETITION RULES. [ill' TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] 'i'E AROHA, Friday. At the annual meeting of tho Piako Cricket Association a lengthy discussion resulted in the placing of the Bowler Shield competition series on a satisDictory basis. It was decided that all matches in the north section bo one-day maches and in tho south section two-day matches. The time for play in the south section is to be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and in the north from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The election of officers resulted :—President, Mr. F. Moutague (Gordon); vicepresidents, Messrs. E. Bowler (Matamata), J. Orr (Gordon), J. T. Laurenson (Matamata), G. Sheehan (Manawarn), W. Marshall (Paeroa), C. Costall (Wardville), Laurence (To Aroha), W. A. Wright (Manawaru), P. Philpott (Morrinsville) and W. McLean (Walton); committee, Messrs. F. C. Hansen (Waitoa), W. J. Aitkcn (Morrinsville), F. Montague (Gordon) and D. K. Porter (Waharoa): selectors, Mr. F. Montague (Gordon), for south section, and Mr. WAit ken (.Morrinsville) for north section: "auditor, Mr. W. McPhcrson (Morrinsville); secretary and treasurer, Mr. I). K. Porter (Waharoa). Tho opening day was fixed for Saturday, October 20.
