PRESENTATION.

A social gathering in honour ot Mr. F. Lang, head attendant at the Auckland Mental Hospital, who is retiring on superannuation, was held by tho staff recently. Mr. Lang has the distinction of having tho longest service of anyone in tho Mental Hospitals Department, and has just completed 40 years at the Auckland institution. Eulogistic reference to Mr. Lang's long and faithful service was mado by Dr. H, M. Prins, medical superintendent, who also presented him with a silver teaset, a set of bowls and a caso of pipes on behalf of the staff. A letter of appreciation of Mr. Lang's work was read from Dr. T. G. Gray, DirectorGeneral of Mental Hospitals.
