INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
FINE OF £2O IMPOSED. SUSPENSION OF LICENCE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] MASTEHTON, Friday. In tho Police Court to-day John Hoffman, of Tinui, was charged with having been in charge of a motor-car on August 12 while in a state of intoxication. The evidence showed that Hoffman and another man were found on Blairlogie Hill asleep in a car, in which was a caso of whisky. The defence was that both Hoffman and the other man had had only two drinks each during the day and the' bottles in the case contained peppermint and cloves and not whisky. Accused was fined £2O. His licence was suspended until tho ex [/if at ion of tho present period, May 31 next, and ho was prohibited from taking out another licence for a further 12 months.
