ATTACKED BY BULLOCK.
FARMER'S NARROW ESCAPE. DOGS COME TO ASSISTANCE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI. Friday A farmer of Waiawa, near Opotiki, "Mr. L. Ross, had a very narrow escape from serious, if not fatal, injuries, when he was attacked by a large bullock. Mr Ross was walking through some scrub currying n gnn, when suddenly the bullock charged from behind, and knocked Mr. Ross down before ho had time to use the gun. The bullock continued the attack, but fortunately for Mr. Ross, his dogs came up and drove the beast off. Mr, Ross was considerably bruised. Hirer> horse men later endeavoured to yard the animal, and succeeded only after great diffi cultv, as the infuriated animal continually attacked the horses.
