RIDE IN ROLLS-ROYCE.

SPANISH DANCER'S STORY.

ALLEGED LOSS OF £5600. lA.ii amazing story, in which ho alleges that two women engineered a plot and robbed him of £6OO and 4250 share certificates, worth £SOOO, lias been related to the London police by Carlos da Verge, a young Spanish dancer. As the result of the complaint detectives have been searching for a woman with a Rolls-Royce, who, so da Verge states, figured with a woman companion in the plot. According to his own narrative the dancer collected the £6OO in notes from various business transactions, and before midday entered a bank to negotiate a share deal. His late arrival prevented the business from being carried through, so he left. As he came out lie noticed a fashionably-dressed young woman in a two-seater Rolls-Royce car, and she appeared to be perplexed. She asked him whether he could direct her to Claridge's Hotel, and after some further conversation da Verge was invited to jump in as an escort to the hotel. Tho car had reached Mayfair when the woman caught sight of, another fashion-ablv-dresscd woman, and tho car was brought to a stop for an introduction to the young Spaniard. Then, instead of calling at Claridge's, a drive into the country was proposed. The first woman went into tho dickey seat with the young man, and tho woman who joined them in Mayfair took tho wheel. Tho afternoon in the country passed pleasantly, and ,the car was deserted for a time while a ramble was enjoyed, lieturning to town, the moment came for parting, but it was arranged that the Spaniard should again meet his new friends at a dance club that evening. Shortly after the women had gone da Verge says he discovered the loss of his wallet.
