Brook, Valuer-General, arrived in Auckland yesterday. He is at the Star Hotel. Mr. A. Nelson, of Wellington, Mr. A. E. Tomlinson, of Tauraarunui. and Mr. J N. Baxter- of Hamilton, are at the Royal Hotel. Mr. Andrew- Messer, Auckland city treasurer, has been granted by the City Council an extension of leave, caused by, indisposition, until October 1. Mr. M. J. Bennett has been granted one month's leave of absence from attendance at meetings of the Aucklnnd City Council, owing to ill-health. Mr. D. L. Patterson, of Oamaru, Mr. A. P. Bennett. Mr. G. W. Laxford, and Mr, J. Thomson, of Wellington, and Mr. W. Grey, of Hamilton, are at the Star Hotel.
