HATTON AND HUGHES DRAW. GOOD BOUT AT NAPIER. £BI telegraph.—-PRESS ASSOCIATION.O NAPIER, Thursday. Matt Hat ton, of Auckland, Bst. 12i1b.. fought a drawn bout with Archie Hughes, of Australia, 9st. Sib., over 15 rounds last evening. A cut _ over Hatton's right eye troubled him all the way through. The Australian established a lead in the early rounds, but the Aucklander improved considerably toward the end. The decision was very popular. Hughes paid forfeit for being overweight. Kid Smith, of Hastings, 9st. 21b., won from George Jphnstone, of Melbourne. 9st. 51b., in a 10-round bout. Johnstone apparently had a clear-cut victory, and the decision was not well received.
