ROTORUA CHAMPIONSHIP. CLOSE GAME IN SECOND ROUND. [BY TELF.GRA I'll.—OW X COR n K'SI'ONDENT. ] ROTORUA, Monday. The second round of the Golf Club championship was played mi Saturday. The conditions were good and llio results in some of the games were somewhat unexpected. C. E. Kusabs defeated Dr. Hay by a good margin. P. Sherrifl defeated E. O. Carr on the 19t.h, the gamo providing a good exhibition of golf. Hulton, iatst year's champion, defeated Carlyon-Britton after a close conteat. Hulton's score was 38 out and 38 in. Tho gamo between C. Worthington, who is one of the oldest players in tho club, and K. Buddie, one of the younger players, was watched with much interest, especially as it was not decided until the players reached tho 2'2rfd green, tho gamo goiug to Worthington. The semi-finals will be played between Worthington and Kusabs and Sherriff and Hulton. In tho junior cup Mcloaaca bent Foggin, 2-up; George beat Ashton, 6 and 5; Gee beat H. Parata at the 10th; A. The match with tho Pukekohe Club for the Balfour Irvine Cup to have taken place next Saturday, has been postponed until August 25. Next Saturday tho qualifying round of .he Kohn Cup competition will bo played. This is to be decided on match handicap play. PUPUKE LADIES' CLUB.
