OBITUARY.
MR JOHN WHAT? FE. Tho death has occurred of a pioneer settler of Albcrtland, Mr. John Wharfe, of Calliope Road, Devonport. Mr. Wharfe, who was in his 90th year, arrived at Auckland in 1862 by tho ship Matilda Watteaback, and sottlcd at North Albertland until the "nineties," when ho moved to tho Mangawai district. For the past 10 years he had been living at Devonport. He was predeceased by his wife in 1905. The surviving children are Messrs. William, Alfred, Henry, Fred and Charles Wharfe, and Misses Ada and Lily Wharfe. There are 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. ' MR. JAMES CREAGH. [by telegraph.—press ASSOCIATION.
