THEFT FROM CHURCH.

COLLECTION MONEY TAKEN. TERM OF IMPRISONMENT. The theft of the collection taken at a communion service in St. Luke's Anglican Church was alleged against Summers Ileniilea Edwards, aged 40, who appeared in (lie Police Court yesterday on six charges of having received stolen goods and two counts of theft. He pleaded guilty. According to Acting-Chief-Detective Kelly, accused was at present serving a Supreme Court sentence. "The theft from the church was mean," he added. Edwards was sentenced to three months' imprisonment on one of the receiving charges and convicted and discharged on all other counts. At the suggestion of Mr. Schramm, who appeared tor accused, the term was made concurrent with the sentence Edwards is serving.
