Christianson now meets Ohlson, over 30 holes, for the finsl. In the junior championship competition, Jerram defeated White, 3 and 2; Barriball defeated Munro, 2 and 1; McCarthy defeated Barker, 4 and 3. The Crane handicap competition was won by Colbeck, who beat Ducker in the final, 2 up. In the second round for the ladies' championship, Mrs. Forbes defeated Miss Glynes, 4 and 3; Miss Barriball defeated Miss Austin. 4 and 3; Miss Muir defeated Mrs. Ohlson. 4 and 3; Mrs. Christianson defeated Mrs. Harkness, 4 and 3. In the first round of the junior championship J. Guineas defeated Watkinson at the 20th hole; Lewis defeated Ibbetson, 4 and 3; Hanna defeated Simmonds, 3 and 2; Gifford defeated Patterson, 1 up. Two challenges have recently been played in the four-ball competition. Bryan and Ralfe successfully resisted a challenge by Roche and Gibbs, and Gifford and Lewis won the junior challenge buttons from S. Guinness and Simmonds on the 18th green. SOUTHERN HAWKE'S BAY. The final of the Dannevirke Golf Club's Southern Hawke's Bay championship was I played this afternoon in glorious weather ! between Kapi Tareha (Napier) and H. A. Black (Wellington). Tareha outplayed his opponent and won by 9 up and 8. The final of the Dannevirke handicap, between A. S. MacGregor (Masterton) and W. G. Martin (Ma.rtinborough), was won by MacGregor, 1 up.
