AMATEUR THEATRICALS.
Tho Ohakune Dramatic Players were greeted with a crowded house at the Patriotic Hall on Thursday evening when the three-act comedy, " Tho Man From Toronto " was presented. The play was directed by Mrs. A. D. Wright and the dresses worn by tho ladies were a feature of tho production. The scenic effects and stage appointments were well carried out, and the lighting effects were under the direction of Mr. J. P. Cottier. The play was well staged and produced, and the performers received a well-merited reception. In the caste Mr. R. Blennerhassett played the leading role of Fergus Wimbush, Miss Marjorjp Cranston took the part of Mrs. Calthorpe, Mr. Fred Cody that of Mr. Priestly, Mrs. A. D. Wright played Ruth Wimbush and Dr. Roberts acted the part of Robert Gilmour, Miss B. Clemett impersonated Martha. The minor roles wero played by Miss Mavis Pearco, Mr. D. Cunningham and Miss Mary Campbell. At the fall of the curtain the artistes received a splendid ovation and many gifts of floral bouquets, boxes of chocolates, and other suitable presents wero given them by an appreciative audience.
