BARBER BEATS GRIFFITHS. DECISION GIVEN ON POINTS. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] DUNEDIN, Sunday. At the Drill Hall last night, before an attendance of about 1800, Tommy Barber (Bst. 13i lb. J was given the decision on points in a 15-round boxing contest with Tommy Griffiths (Hst 1311b). Barber finished very strongly and in the final round put Griffiths down twice, on the first occasion for nine seconds The decision was given a mixed reception. AMATEUR CONTESTS. Tho champions are: Fly-weight, V. Spavin (fctuwera); bantam, N Roebuck (New Plymouth), feather-weight, C. Donovan (Waitara): light-weight, T. Donovan; middle-weight, L. Dombroski (Waitara); welter-weight, lj. Dotnbroski; light heavyweight, A Goodwin (Okato): hoavy-weight, L. O'Koefe (Midhurst) Tho following will represent Taranaki at tho New Zealand championships at Auckland:— Donovan, Roebuck, Dombroski and Goodwin.
