FREE SOUP KITCHEN.
PROVISION IN CHRISTCHURCH [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CHBISTCHURCH, Saturday. Feeling that there should be no need for anyone in Christchurch to be hungry as a result of unemployment, the Salvation Army authorities to-day adopted the practical measure of opening a free soup kitchen at 17, Victoria Street, a few doors from the citadel. The assistance is not limited to men, special provision bein<r made for supplying meals for women and children as well.
