AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE THE WEEK'S TRANSACTIONS. Only a .small volume of business passed on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. In Government securities War Loans, 1938. 4A per cent., changed hands at £99, an improvement of 10s on the price given a fortnight ago. No business passed in the banking section, but in insurance New Zealands had sale at tho current figure of 42s 6d, with more wanted at that price. In loan and agency proferenco shares of Newton King, Limitod, changed hands at 6s 9d, a substantial drop on the price of 12s given at tho precoding salo six weeks ago. Following is a summary of transactions since Friday of last week. In the second column is given the return, based on tho last dividend, from investment at tho quoted price. In the case of Government and other redeemable securities the return includes redemption. The first column gives the figures at which the latest salo was made during the week: —
