AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE MARKET SOMEWHAT QUIET. The market was somewhat quieter on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, and the volume of business was scarcely up to the average. Holders of Government loans were not 011 the market. New Zealand Breweries debentures havo improved sinco last week, and sold at 22s lOd. In banking Quotations were close in most cases, but 110 sales were effected.

In insurance New Zealands hardened a shade to sell at 42s 6d, and buyers continued to offer this figure. In coals business was done in Taupiris at last week's rate of 265. Westports were also in demand and changed hands at 30s 3d. In gas Aucklands remain steady and were dealt in at the current price of 23s 3d. Tho contributing issuo sold at 17s, as compared with 16s lOd a fortnight ago. In miscellaneous buyers offered 3s 6d for Amusement Parks, which were available at Bs. Holders of Colonial Sugar quoted £6O ss, buyers £59 10s. In mining business was done in Ohinemuris, ordinary, at 7s. Waihis continue to attract attention and sold again at lis Bd. Mount Lyells were offered at 33s 6d, buyers 33s 3d. Tho following sales took place:—New Zealand Breweries debentures, 22s 10d; New Zealand Insurance, 42s 6d; Taupiri Coal, 265; West port Coal, 30s 3d; Auckland' Gas, 23s 3d; Auckland Gas, contributing, 17s; Ohinemuri, 7s; Waihi, lis Bd.
