LONDON DAIRY MARKET.
NIEW ZEALAND'S POSITION.
"CONCENTRATE ON CHEESE."
BUTTER PROSPECTS UNCERTAIN. "The prospects for New Zealand cheese in England are excellent, but tho butter market is uncertain," stated Mr. W. 11. Kent, a representative in New Zealand for the largo Tooley Street firm of Andrew Clement and Sons, Limited, who returned from a short business visit to England by the Arawa yesterday. Dealing with butter, Mr. Kent said there was ever-incrcasing competition from European countries, such as Russia and the Balkan States. Not only were these countries increasing thoir production, but also they were bettering their quality. As for as New Zealand was concerned, European countries also had the advantage of quicker and easier delivery. "My opinion is that New Zealand should concentrate on cheese," added Mr. Kent. "Jn this direction we have a market whero competition is not very keen, and where our product is held in the highest regard. After visiting London and meeting those connected with the dairy produce industry there, one can say that New Zealand has a certain market for cheese, while the outlook for butter is at least uncertain."
