LECTURER IN MUSIC.

MR. ERNEST JENNER ARRIVES
lu order to take up the position of lecturer in music at the Wellington Training College, Mr. Ernest Jenner, L.R.A.M., of London, arrived at Auckland by the Arawa from Southampton yesterday. Mr. Jenner, who is well-known in musical circles in England, is fulfilling a life-long ambition. He stated he always had the desire to settle in one of the Dominions, preferably New Zealand.
Mr. Jetuier studied the piano under York Bowcn and later Tabias Matthay. Before leaving England ho was engaged as a teacher at the London Royal Academy of Music, and found time to give private tuition. As well as being an accomplished pianist, ho is also an organist of note. He has played at the Queen's Hall promenade concerts and various symphony concerts. Mr. Jenner has also had considerable experience as a conductor. "Just bofore T left London the German opera season opened, and there was an almost unprecedented demand for seats," stated Mr. Jenner. "The, operas were Admirably done, and wero very well received."
