In the men's singles, in the third round, Tilden defeated De Kehrling, 6—2, 6—3, 6 —l; Cochet defeated Mayes, 6—l, 6—B, 7 S, 6—2; Crawford defeated Gregory, g 7 ) 6 4, 6—3; Jean Borotra defeated Spence, 7—5, 7—5, 6—3; Austin defeated Coen, 6—4, 3—6, 6—4, 3—6, 6—l; Patterson defeated Kingsley, 10 8, 9 11, 10—8, 5—7, 6—2; Moon defeated Ohta (Japan), 6—4, 6—2, 7—9, 6—4; de Morpurgo (Italy) defeated Matejka (Austria), 5 2, 9—7, 3—6; Brugnon defeated O'Cailaghan, 6—2, 6—2, 6—4.
